‘Mundanity of life’. Second year project. The brief was to design three months for a calendar using mundane routines as the theme. I decided to use my walk to university and back as the main concept for my idea, I photographed my route, taking photos of things and people that I normally pass everyday without noticing. I found some great art work in the streets, I then tried to make the calendar dates look part of the photo naturally. January was all the door numbers and shop signs I passed.

This was our first editorial project in first year. We had to call the magazine ‘Event’ and base it on a recent event that we took part in, mine was based on my trip to Barcelona in first year with the university. All the photos used in the magazine are my own.

Invisible Library. First year project. We were only given the title of a book which we had to select from a list of books that didn’t actually exist.  We had to create our own blurbs and decide what genre the book would be.

Book cover design. Fist year project. We had to select 3 books from a list of books with only a sentence describing the book. The task was to make all three books look as though they are part of a series.

Pub sign. First year project. For this brief we were asked to design a modern pub sign with a lateral idea, we really had to think ‘outside the box’. For this task the pub I had chosen was ‘The Dog’.

‘An Exaltation of Larks’ by James Lipton. We had to create a 16 page booklet illustrating collective nouns through type. This is what I came up with for the first year project.

First ‘Booklet’ project in first year. First time using inDesign. ‘An Introduction to Type’ this brief was to design a booklet, we had to use the text given and create an effective design about the anatomy of type.

First year project ‘Create Your Own Alphabet’. I made mine from black poster paint, a cotton wool bud and an old dried up paint brush. I called it ‘Hocus Pocus’.

For this project we had to create an ‘identity’ and a poster advertising a show for a chosen celebrity. I chose Vivienne Westwood. The whole poster is original.
